huh?

aiyah, this is old news already but have to document it for posterity. Last nite, we got off the hippobus and transferred to Heng transport bus at suntec. I cleared and checked the hippobus and went to throw a mineral water box at suntec, just across from where the bus was parked. When I turned, eh the bus started to move off already so I thought maybe driver just want to park to one side but then, the bus didnt stop and it just went zooming outof the bus bay and onto the roundabout.

Win. I wasn't on the bus. I called Ah girl and she went, "Shit!"

yeah shit. shit you.

The case about the bump on her head

Ah Girl is now working with me on a project. Thanks to some of us, now my EP and writer also knows about this site. The more the merrier, they say!

Anyway, Ah Girl vavoomed her hair for CNY. On the bus out to bishan, she told me she does wushu at Cairnhill CC with the Vincent Ng team. Wushu? Rrrrrrignt!

So anyway, Ah Girl says she was having her hair shampooed by the shampoo girl and suddenly OUCH! Shampoo girl finds a bump on her head and Ah Girl says, "Oh must be those times when I was practicing with the "gun" (wooden stick/weapon in chinese), I must have twirled it too fast and cannot estimate so it hit my head. Wah I didn't know so pain."

Win already.

Ah Girl Jaded

Think ah girl has been working long hours these days. She seems so overworked until today she asked a colleague, who has been the nicest person to her till this day.

Ah Girl, "I very tired these days. How come need to work so long hours?"
Colleague, "Never do production before huh? It's like that one"
Ah Girl, "I like a lot of nights never sleep already, even though I sleep very early these few days"
Colleague, "Production is like that one lah."
Ah Girl "sigh...."

The Delivery of Tape Saga

Ah Girl asked a colleague to ask me to deliver a tape for her the next day. I didn't know the request originate from Ah Girl, so I agreed.

But the next afternoon, Ah Girl called personally, saying the tape needs to be duplicated and I were to send the duplicate copy to my boss. She asked if I could do her this favour. I said this is the busiest day of my week, and I might not be able to do it. Instead of coming back to finish her unfinished work, she told me to finish another person to do it for her!!

That's not the end. After delivering the tape, I started getting phone calls from her imediate superiors regarding the sending of the tape. I almost told them, tell Ah Girl to do her job properly and you people won't be worrying so much.
Oh, and Ah Girl actually text me to check if I had deliver the tape, at 8pm, when I'm doing a live show!! And those people who work in the office which I'm suppose to deliver the tape have already gone home. So, if I had really forgotten to send, what can she do?

By the way, that tape was needed for transmission the next day. So much for sense of responsibility!!

When will she learn?

The nature of our job involves a lot of coordination. Those people who do voice-overs for us and usually DJs, and they have to go on-air at specific time slots. It is always easier to text them, than call them as they might be doing some voice recording and will not be able to answer phone calls. After working with them, we would usually take note of the time slot in which they go on-air and avoid calling them at that specific period.

Ah Girl did the unthinkable.

Ah Girl: Hi xxx, is it convenient for you to talk now?
xxx: "i'm on-air now" (something which I figure it out later)
Ah Girl: I know, that's why I ask you whether is it convenient to talk now
xxx: .......
Ah Girl: Are you able to come down to do a voice over?

At this point of time, I almost fainted. I forgot what happen later.

Being Ah Girl's Receptionist

Being the receptionist for ah girl has it's "plus" side. First, you get to screen her calls. Those who use her English names are usually work-related, and the moment they put down the phone, her mobile phone will start buzzing on her table, which, can be very irritating. I mean, how can mobile phones be call mobile phones if they are not mobile. But, that's beside the point. Back to receptionist story. As for those who use her Chinese name, "clear throat", are usually family members.

It so happens that Ah Girl wasn't around to answer her mum's phone call. So after telling her Ah Girl just walked away, her not-so-mobile mobile phone rang.

Ah Girl called home...

Ah Girl: Ma, you called just now?
Ma:......

Ah Girl: Of course I know lah
Ma:.....

Ah Girl: Phuket, I never go before.
Ma:....

Ah Girl: Hah?? I want to go, but when?
Ma:...

Ah Girl: You tell me the dates lah, then I can take leave
Ma:....

Ah Girl: okay...bye

Guess what? She is doing a "so-call" BIG show, and she is PLANNING for a trip. Her poor co-pilot. Should I tell the co-pilot?

We are not alone

Yes everyone, we are not alone. Someone else has a site called http://www.iworkwithfools.com/

Check out their mission statement, sounds familiar?

It's been a while girls... here's a lil something.

Hi all!
It's been some time since any of us contributed to this site since we are all way above our heads, drowning in what we regard as "work". I've shared this little update with a few but hey, let me put it on this site for memories.

Apparently, our dear friend went to mr ong's office to 'complain' that she is very free and has nothing to do after CTHW has finished its business (how to be busy when 70% of the time, someone else is covering her work?) Anyhoo, she hopes, sincerely, that mr ong will give her something to do. She is dying to learn new things as she feels she is, I quote, "very new". mr ong wondered out loud to our colleague: "She is new?? But she's been with us since Nov last year! It's been more than 6 months already! How can she consider herself new?" End of quote.

I mean, I admit lah. In this line, we all have busy times and downtime. When the downtime comes around, I'm more than happy to chill, hide behind my comp and relax a bit before the next crunch/project comes along.

On another note, another colleague has noticed another of our dear friend's habit. She loves to 'book' her leave around the time when public holidays fall on a Monday or Friday so that she can take the whole stretch. This colleague feels that sure, you are allowed to consume your leave anytime u want but once or twice, never mind, we can overlook but she has made it a recurring thing.

Now I hear she's officially been made the 2nd ap for that big show end of the month. Hahah no wonder i saw her twirling her hair and playing with her phone at one of the meetings. hey, i have eyes u know, cant blame me. Hope this is the learning experience she's been asking for.

Who Kena-ed The Silver Finger?

Who ah? What happened?

Confessions of an Ah Girl avoider

OK! I confess, today I spy her from the corner of my eye as the cab nears the recep, and i'm like, whoa, where did SHE come from? She seemed to have appeared from the other direction, not from walking up the small hill. So anyway, avoid all eye contact, delay delay coming out of cab, pay big money to cab driver despite having small change, make sure cab take its own sweet time to reach the top of the small hill so I can alight when she has clearly walked up the stairs to Recep. Then I walk slowly to the recep, despite it being 11am liao, (yeah, like m really cares she come in so 'late') and then poof, she's gone. Shit!! Where is she??? I don't want to lose sight of her and have her popping from behind, HI Mariana! that sort of thing...

Walk cautiously to the lobby with the tv sets and then faster as I approach Annex Bldg lobby. Phew, no sight of her. And then, argh!!! She gets into the lift last minute with Nat and me and you know what she does? Open the front door, almost lets it slam into Nat and me and continue walking in. Gee, thanks for holding the door loh!

Wah lau!!!
